I will try to brew early next week..let's discuss recipe. .like i pointed out earlier. .yeast should ideally be the same. .but any of the wyeast WLP products are fine. Recipe should be close..but doesn't have to be exact. .getting OG and IBU close is best. Brewing clean. .clean and sanitary is what we want. I can brew 10 early next week..of anyone wants to join me we can split. As for 60..well if everyone brews 5 gallons we will be short..so ideally aim for 5.5 and this will get you 5 into keg. I always brew 11 gallon so I have 10 into kegs. 12 guys brewing 5.5 gallons.

Jay

I can brew 5.5 gal in the next week. Just need the the recipe we're going with. I've never done a trippel so I don't have any recipe suggestions.

I'm in for at least 5, maybe 5.5. My normal batches are right around 6 into the fermenter, so probably 5-5.5 finished product when it is racked.

I will be able to brew 5.5 gallons. Most likely this weekend.

I am in to brew 5.5 to put in.

One suggestion for a recipe:
1.083 OG
25 IBU
5.9 SRM

13# (80%) - Pilsner
1/2# (3%) - Wheat Malt
1/2# (3%) - Munich Malt 10L
1/2# (3%) - Biscuit
4oz (1.5%) - Aromatic
1.5# (9%) - Cane/Candi Sugar

20 IBU - 90 min - Perle or other Noble-type hop
5 IBU - 30 min - Styrian Gold or Fuggle or Noble

Yeast, it's probably best to go with one that will be easily available from both major yeast suppliers. In order of my preference.
Westmalle - Abbey Ale WLP530 - Trappist High Gravity 3787
Achouffe/Ardennes - Belgian Ale WLP550 - Belgian Ardennes 3522
Rochefort - Abbey IV WLP540 - Belgian Abbey II 1762
Chimay - Trappist Ale WLP500 - Belgian Abbey 1214

Ferment, start low-mid 60s and then run up to 70ish to suppress phenols and alcohols.

Alright, discuss...

Was planning to brew all day Saturday and then that didn't happen for me. But, I did mash on Sunday afternoon and I'll finish the boil tonight. So, I'm on track still.

I did 10 and I'm fermenting half on the Wyeast Trappist and the other half on the Danstar Abbaye. That will give me a choice of finished product to add to the barrel.
