Competition Entry Forms and Style Guidelines


This page is provided as a service to those who need forms to enter homebrewing competitions, both the UKG's and other clubs'. These forms were produced by the Beer Judge Certification Program and the American Homebrewers Association. Most competitions will accept them.

Recipe Form Entry/Recipe Form (118K).

Accepted by most competitions.

Recipe Form 2007 AHA National Homebrew Competition Entry Form (159K).

Used only for the AHA NHC.  No recipe, no bottle labels, but asks for some additional information.

Bottle Labels Bottle Labels (180K).

Accepted by most competitions.

1999 BJCP Style Guidelines 2004 BJCP Style Guidelines
full version (1480K).

Now used by all BJCP-sanctioned competitions.  Includes minor corrections from 2005.

Intended for very large
competitions offering
limited feedback.

Be sure to check the rules of any competition you enter and be sure you know which guidelines they are using.  The organizers may not catch a classification error until it's too late, and your mead will probably do poorly if judged as a rauchbier!
