The Urban Knaves of Grain

Urban Knaves of Grain (UKG) meet on the third Tuesday of every month, 7:30pm at Bubblehouse Brewing, 2121 Ogden Ave in Lisle; map here. Occasionally we have special meetings at other locations. Updates will be posted here and in the club calendar.

Urban Knaves of Grain (UKG) is the oldest and largest homebrew club in DuPage County, Illinois. We are dedicated to the art of brewing great beer, mead, and cider at home.

We offer a variety of activities and resources for homebrewers at all levels, from beginner to experienced, not to mention just plain fun stuff. Workshops, Knewsletter, picnics, outings, competitions, meetings, pub crawls, brew-ins...even a song...we have them all.

Our Club Motto: "UKG... Because home is where great beer is brewed!"

In 1999, we were co-winners of the American Homebrewers Association's Homebrew Club of the Year award.  This award is presented every year to the homebrew club whose members score the most points in the AHA's National Homebrew Competition, the largest homebrew competition in the world.

Our very own homebrew competition, the Drunk Monk Challenge, is held every year in March. Each year it attracts around 800 entries from all over the country, making it one of the largest competitions in the USA.  Check out the Drunk Monk Challenge winners here.

Urban Knaves of Grain (UKG) is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization.
